I live in Iowa City where they had a rather strange fountain with a crude nickname in the down ped mall and strange artwork in Lower City Park. The fountain in downtown has been replaced with a different version with a different crude nickname, picture coming after I get downtown again when it's running.
I like to take trips, road trips and otherwise. Here is a bunch of pictures I've taken along the way in my Flickr photo gallery.

My name is John Johnson and I live in Iowa City Iowa. Here's a far away picture of where I live. I have been involved with computers for a long time - I have worked with large scale IBM mainframe computers, RS/6000's running AIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, PC's running DOS, Windows NT, 2000, 2003, 2008 and 7 as well as Linux - quite a range. I am currently specializing in Monitoring and Virtualization.
My leisure activities include
- sailing everything from 13 foot FJ's to 28 foot E-scows to a few hours steering a 12-meter America's Cup yacht off of the western coast of Australia
- camping (both summer and winter - have you ever camped in a snow storm?),
